Product History

Legacy of the Ancients Legacy of the Ancients was one of the classic fantasy/role-playing games of the mid 1980's. Created by Quest Software, this game had it all, from 3D dungeons with creative creatures to whimsical quests that spanned continents. This game was published internationally by Electronic Arts for the Commodore 64, Apple II, and IBM platforms.

This proved to be a historic game for SophSoft when Art Director Rick Tumanis was hired to do Apple II and IBM CGA graphics and Technical Director Gregg Seelhoff was hired to program for the IBM version of the game.

Legend of Blacksilver The Legend of Blacksilver was Quest Software's next, and unfortunately last, fantasy/role-playing game. Designed to be a follow-up to Legacy of the Ancients with deeper dungeons, a bigger world, a solid dramatic plot, and new arcade-style training and gambling games, this game was the last release in the Master's Collection by Epyx. It was released for the Commodore 64 and Apple IIe platforms, but the untimely demise of the publisher did not allow for the completion of an IBM version.

Gregg Seelhoff was one of the three programmers who put together this ambitious (at the time) project, and Rick Tumanis took over as the main artist, and is especially fond of the dungeon creatures that he designed. Rick also contributed background fiction and illustrations for the user's manual.

Star Trek Star Trek: The Next Generation, "A Final Unity" is a best-selling graphical adventure game set in the Star Trek universe, and featuring several technical advancements, as well as voice acting from Patrick Stewart, Majel Barrett, and all other lead actors from the hit series.

While not technically a SophSoft product, our Technical Director, Gregg Seelhoff, served as the lead programmer for this project for a year and a half, before finding great irony in the name and departing for his current position.
